Abstract
Center for Smart and Convergent Manufacturing Systems (CSCMS) is a New York Center for Advanced Technology (CAT) in Advanced Manufacturing. The Center will focus on creating next-generation automation and systems-development technologies for high-value manufacturing sectors in New York State (NYS). CSCMS conducts cutting-edge industry-relevant, physics-informed, data-driven, and AI-enabled research at the intersections of the three scientific domains: High Value Manufacturing Operations, Intelligent Production Systems, and Algorithms and Decision-Making. Leveraging RPI's unique strength in manufacturing, robotics and automation, high performance computing, artificial intelligence/machine learning (AI/ML), and systems engineering; CSCMS serves critical needs of NYS manufacturers through its (i) industry-relevant research and technology transfer, (ii) entrepreneurial ventures and (iii) workforce development, training and outreach activities.
